Since 1976, our hands-on approach to process equipment and fluid handling solutions has helped us build long-standing relationships throughout the Midwest. We have solved a lot of problems with many of the same seasoned pump sales engineers for decades. When you contact Great Lakes Pump & Supply with a tricky application, you are tapping into a deep storehouse of product knowledge, field experience, and practical problem-solving.
Built Around Industrial Pump Applications
Our founders first focused on a central question: “What can we provide to become a multi-component, preferred source for industrial parts washers and automotive paint shops?”
At the time, the answer included liquid level control valves, air-operated diaphragm pumps, spray nozzles, and the heavy-industry workhorses many plants relied on: the Gusher 7550 and 7800 series vertical centrifugal pumps. That paint shop focus eventually helped lead to the top pull-out design feature for Gusher’s 7550 Series pumps, allowing pump service without disconnecting piping.

Your Industry’s Leading Pump Supplier
While the founding principle served Great Lakes Pump & Supply well, carrying the Gusher line also meant supporting customers with Ruthman coolant pumps, a product line with more than 100 years of history. Eventually, the Ruthman family, owner of Gusher Pumps, purchased Great Lakes Pump & Supply to provide industrial pump users with a responsive, tightly integrated solution for bringing pumps from the Gusher factory to the plant floor.
The Ruthman family also purchased Process Systems’ severe-duty vertical turbines, Deming vertical turbines, BSM Pump, formerly Brown & Sharpe, gear and vane pumps, and Nagle abrasive slurry pumps. These product lines add to the depth of support available through Great Lakes Pump & Supply.
